The Community Broadcasting Association is pleased to welcome you to the November 2023 content of our national suicide prevention and mental health awareness project, developed with the support of the Australian Government Department of Health.

Each month, our project team develops a series of 20 short radio segments designed to promote help-seeking behaviour and positive lifestyle choices, using interviews with service providers, as well as profiles of people who have successfully dealt with tough times in their lives.

This month, we speak to Suicide Prevention Australia about their innovative new framework which enhances the capability of the health sector workforce in responding to people experiencing suicidal thoughts and behaviours.

We find out about a new online resource Everymind has launched to support the wellbeing of small agribusiness owners working in Australia’s agriculture, forestry and fishing industry.

We catch up with Linda Williams, ReachOut’s Clinical Lead, to find out how young people can deal with the stress they may be feeling about their Year 12 exam results.

We remind you of the different ways you can support Movember’s important work in the areas of men’s mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer.

And we learn about the resources you can access to help you ask R U OK? in the workplace in a safe and supportive way.

For more information on this project, please contact the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia on (02) 9310 2999, or email: [email protected]

Segments can be accessed via the CRN box.
